From the Misused Words File – All Right vs. Alright
This installment from the misused words file looks at the difference between All Right and Alright.
Let’s look at the definitions:
alright – ???
Depending on your source, ‘alright’ is not a valid word. With that being said, it has been used in literature dating back to the writings of Mark Twain.
The bottom line is it’s up to you. ‘All Right’ is the acceptable form. You can use ‘alright’ if you want to as long as you understand it’s the less acceptable variation.
